It's made of corn, not oil, so has a much lower carbon footprint. In fact, making them produces 77% less CO2. It can take the high heat and stresses and strains involved in being a hot cup lid. Then after use, rather than clogging up landfill, it can be reprocessed into compost or topsoil and biogas in 180 days. No wonder it keeps winning innovation awards...
Meet the world's first 100% compostable hot cup lid! It's made of cornstarch-based PLA , can take high temperatures, and can compost within 180 days. It took us nearly three years of R&D but we have invented a real winner of a product.
Our brilliant lid comes in two sizes - small to fit our 8oz cups, and large to fit the 10/12/16oz cups. The large one fits many widely-available 10, 12 and 16oz hot cups which have a rim diameter of 89-90mm.

For extra hand protecion when using our hot cups for teas or soup, the compostable brown kraft sleeves slip easily over the cups. They come in two sizes, one size fits the 8oz cups, and another fits the 10/12/16oz cups. Both sleeves are plain but can be supplied printed on request.
