What a great day! We marked the relaunch of our Vegware Community Fund yesterday by adopting a section of Edinburgh’s Union Canal! With a little help from our friends including Tollcross Primary School’s P5 and Scottish Waterways Trust, as well as folk from some of the projects we support. There was face painting, seed planting, our Bin Detective’s Recycling Challenge, a bumblebee survey and much more. And it was sunny!
Love the high-street trend for bright colours? Meet our new Tutti Frutti ice cream spoons! At 3 inches, these candy coloured sampling spoons are perfect for ice cream or frozen yoghurt, and also great for a cheeky taste test! We’re also very pleased with our pastel pop art promotional film – have a look!
Our HQ may be in Edinburgh, but our team are busy all over the UK. And now we are delighted to announce we have opened a small office in Bristol, to be a handy base for our Southern Sales team.
It’s in St Nicholas House, on High Street, right by St Nick’s market and Broadmead – a very central location. Here’s Teresa, Carol, Dom, Laura, Sarah and Harriet celebrating with some fizz on the shared rooftop garden. Cheers!
Our products are going to be on TV tonight! Our palm leaf platters, which are made from fallen palm leaves, will be used in the second episode of the ITV show BBQ Champ. See if you can spot them when the show airs tonight at 9:00pm. We thought we’d celebrate by having a barbie ourselves and taking some snaps of the platters in action!
We are celebrating the re-launch of the Community Fund on August 26th with an event starting at 12:30pm in Edinburgh’s Harrison Park. We’ve planned a range of family-friendly activities, including a wild food walk, face painting and environmental games. There will also be a canal boat docked nearby offering free refreshments.
The Community Fund supports sustainability in its broadest sense, offering regular funding or product donations to charities and not-for-profit organisations from Ayrshire to the Amazon. The re-launch party celebrates an increase in the fund’s capacity to support organisations, a new blog and our adoption of the stretch of the Union Canal that passes our Edinburgh HQ!
This event will be attended by a mix of local businesses, community fund recipients, and representatives of the environmental sector. If you’d like to come along, or just want some more information on the Community Fund and the event, check the Vegware website, say hi on facebook or Twitter, or send us an email at email@example.com.
Being based in Scotland, we’ve not been outside a lot this summer. Handily, this means we’ve had plenty of time to work on perfecting our sandwich platter range. The fruits of this labour are our new and improved products!
These lines will be available to order from the 10th of August and samples are available now. Read on below for details of their exclusive features!
Our special Rugby cup is available for pre-order. The colourful 12oz double wall cup is made in the British Isles from sustainable and recycled board, and the special design is printed with vegetable-based inks. The plant-based lining has 72% less carbon than the plastic lining on conventional hot cups!
Teresa Suter, our Sales Director says: “We wanted to capture the excitement and energy of the sport. Abstracted action shots show a sportsman at the top of his game, about to score a try. We can see it being a real hit with Rugby lovers.”
We’re expecting these to fly out the doors, so why not order some today?
We won! Vegware is now the proud owner of a rather fetching Scottish Business in the Community award for SME of the year!
SBC is one of The Prince’s Charities and Scotland’s leading organisation in responsible business practices. The awards celebrate companies of all sizes across all sectors, supporting and developing business practices that enrich Scotland’s communities, conserve and improve the environment and achieve long term sustainability. In short, helping better business make Scotland a better place in which to live and work.
Jane Wood, CEO of Scottish Business in the Community, said: “This is the first year we’ve opened the Awards to all businesses in Scotland. There’s a huge amount of excellent work around the responsible business agenda taking place within our communities. Picking a winner was incredibly difficult, but we are delighted to have Vegware as our SME of the year”.
